Summary
We collect the minimum data needed to operate MagicForward: your account email, mailbox configuration, and operational logs. We do not sell your personal information.
What we collect
- Account information: your login email address.
- Mailbox configuration: IMAP host/port/TLS settings, IMAP username, target folder, and whether the mailbox is enabled.
- Credentials: your IMAP password (stored encrypted at rest) so we can append messages into the folder you choose.
- Operational data: timestamps, status/error messages, and limited technical logs needed to run and debug the service.
How we use information
- To deliver and sync email into your account via IMAP.
- To maintain reliability, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.
- To communicate about your account or service changes.
Email content
MagicForward receives messages addressed to your MagicForward address and copies them into your IMAP folder. Message content must be processed in transit to provide the service.
Sharing
We share information only as needed to operate the service (for example: infrastructure providers) or to comply with law. We do not sell your data.
Security
Credentials are encrypted at rest. We use TLS where available for connections to IMAP servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
Retention and deletion
We keep account and configuration data while your account is active. Operational logs may be retained for a limited time for reliability and debugging. You can request deletion of your account and associated configuration.
Your choices
- You can disable or delete mailboxes from your dashboard.
- You can use an app password instead of your primary password where supported.
