Common concerns

Gmail filters

IMAP injection does not trigger Gmail filters, since Gmail considers the message "already there" as opposed to "newly delivered". However, you can usually filter upstream at your provider, instructing them to forward to a different MagicForward address based on your desired criteria. You then set up these MagicForward addresses to point to the same gmail account, with distinct labels. The same considerations apply to spam filtering; this must be done upstream.

Inbox folder

The "inbox" folder gets special treatment in the IMAP protocol, and at this time we do not support copying messages directly to the inbox. Instead, each Magic forwarding address goes to a single non-inbox folder that is created by MagicForward at setup time. If inbox delivery is important to you, please email sam@support.magicforward.email and we will count your "vote" in favor of implementing it.
